As someone who has always been deeply committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families, I’ve long believed that true success is about more than just achieving great legal outcomes — it’s about forging a legacy of generational wholeness. This purpose is at the heart of everything we do at Resolve Divorce, and it’s why I am so incredibly excited about our evolving partnership with Flinders University.
This collaboration represents a significant investment for us, especially in a billable-hours business where every moment is accounted for. But the truth is, investing our time and resources into this partnership is worth every second. We are not only redefining family law, but we are also reshaping what it means to be a family lawyer in today’s world.
Through our partnership with Flinders, led by the inspirational Dean of Law, Tania Leiman, and Senior Lecturer Rob Chalmers, Flinders are empowering the next generation of legal professionals with the skills, tools, and, most importantly, the values they need to make a lasting impact. Tania, who was also the honoured guest at our most recent Rise event, has been an incredible ally in this vision, and it has been an absolute privilege to work alongside her and her team.
Over the past months, our senior solicitors Vanessa Camerlego and Ella Cameron, together with our General Manager Sam Cavallaro, have been actively involved in inspiring sessions with Flinders’ law students. These students are engaging with complex, real-life industry problems — the kind of problems that require creativity, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Tools like the Business Model Canvas, Value Proposition Canvas, empathy mapping, and SWOT analysis are grounding these future lawyers in strategies that bridge theory with practice. It’s truly cutting-edge, and witnessing it firsthand has been nothing short of invigorating.
At Resolve, we know the future of family law goes far beyond the courtroom. It’s about being champions for what is right in the community, advocating for social change, and ensuring that families can navigate life’s transitions with dignity, compassion, and lasting outcomes. Our partnership with Flinders University allows us to help shape this future, and it’s been so rewarding to work with a new generation of lawyers who are equipped with the tools and passion to drive change.
These students have the potential to be so much more than just skilled lawyers — they can become advocates for social justice, using their legal knowledge to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Their excitement and dedication to learning have reignited my belief in the power of education to drive societal transformation.
The journey we are on with Flinders University has only just begun, but the impact we’ve seen so far has been tremendous. I am incredibly proud of our team and our partners at Flinders for their dedication to forging a path that aligns with our core purpose — to foster generational wholeness and create lasting, meaningful change in our community.
I look forward to continuing this work, and I am inspired by the potential we are unlocking together. It is partnerships like these that remind me why I started Resolve in the first place — to challenge the status quo, to be bold in the face of adversity, and to leave a legacy of positive change for generations to come.
